I had my first intro class today and I came away amazed! I wanted to say that it was love at first spin :) Our instructor Laura was very patient and took the time to teach us individually and so very friendly. She is so nice and very helpful! It was a hard class since I never danced like this before but I am coming back and looking forward to my next Intro class because I felt so great afterwards though very sore lol. I am so happy I found NYPD”   Palepinkrose

                                LAURA GANZERO

Laura began pole dancing at NYPD in June of 2009. Her experience at New York Pole Dancing is a testament to how the art of pole can change your life. Laura began dancing at 3 years old, taught by her mother who is a veteran ballerina and modern dancer. Although Laura strayed from the formally taught forms of dance after 12 years of age, her love of dance never left her. As Laura's 29th birthday approached her, she realized she wasn't getting any younger. She had no steady fitness regime and no inspiration. It was then that she decided to try something different. Encouraged by her dear friend and now fellow instructor, Brynlyn Loomis, Laura took her first Climb and Spin class. Unknowingly, that class was going to change her life. Shortly after that first class, Laura found herself showing up at the NYPD doorstep 4 or 5 times a week. Laura was amazed at what pole dancing, in such a short time, was doing for her body and confidence. She was pushing boundaries, overcoming fears and challenging herself, physically, with an intensity she had never felt before. It was exactly what she needed and she found herself completely addicted. In just under 9 months, Laura decided to take the leap and complete the Climb and Spin instructor training course. After completing her training Laura was hired as an instructor at NYPD and is now living the dream! She is absolutely in love with pole dancing, teaching pole dancing, watching pole dancing, photographing pole dancing and doing anything pole dance related. She is a fierce believer in pole dancing as a sport, art form and an avenue of self expression. Laura would like to tell all the ladies of the world, and boys too, "If I can do it, YOU can do it. Trust me."
